Frequently Asked Questions
What is PRP therapy and how does it work?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses your own blood platelets—concentrated and injected into injured or degenerative tissues—to release growth factors that promote healing of joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It’s a minimally invasive procedure performed in-office, with most patients returning to normal activities within a day or two.
What are stem cell therapies offered by Young Lotus?
We provide autologous (from your own body) or allogeneic (donor-derived) mesenchymal stem cell treatments. These cells are delivered to the injury site to help regenerate damaged tissue, reduce inflammation, and improve function. Stem cell therapy is commonly used for arthritis, tendon injuries, and certain spine conditions.
How does exosome therapy differ from stem cell treatment?
Exosomes are nano-sized vesicles secreted by stem cells that carry signaling proteins and RNA. Exosome therapy harnesses these “messengers” without using whole cells, offering many of the regenerative benefits—like reduced inflammation and tissue repair—while potentially lowering immune-reaction risks.
Am I a good candidate for regenerative medicine treatments?
Ideal candidates are adults with chronic or acute musculoskeletal injuries (e.g., tendinopathy, osteoarthritis, ligament sprains) who have not responded fully to conservative care (physical therapy, NSAIDs). A thorough consultation and review of your medical history will determine your suitability.
What should I expect during and after my appointment?
• During: A brief exam and imaging review, local anesthesia, and targeted injection of PRP, stem cells, or exosomes.
• After: Mild soreness or swelling at the injection site is common. You’ll receive after-care instructions—including activity modifications and any recommended physical therapy—and most patients notice improvement over 4–6 weeks as healing progresses.
Are these treatments safe, and what are the possible side effects?
Regenerative therapies are generally well tolerated. Since PRP and autologous stem cells use your own tissues, risk of rejection or serious reaction is very low. Common side effects include temporary pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. We follow strict sterile protocols and conduct thorough pre-treatment evaluations to minimize any risks.
